Koloclyphis? ...Ein mysteriös anmutender Bandname für vier Newcomer, die
weitaus mehr sind als das. Dies konnten sie auch beim 2012 Southside
Bandcontest in Biberach (Deutschland) unter Beweis stellen.
Die Anfang 2011 geformte Quartett gibt voll gas und sind schon ein sehenswerte live act. Auch wenn das Bandlogo zunächst psychodelisch wirkt, kann man sich auf jede Menge Spaß freuen. Beeinflusst wurde die Band von Nirvana, NOFX, Muse und Silverchair. Herausgekommen ist eine ziemlich coole Mischung aus Alternative Rock, melodic Grunge und Punk Rock. Die knackig erfrischenden Gitarrenriffs und die melodisch-rockigen Texte haben definitiv Ohrwurmcharakter. Verfeinert werden diese mit abgefahrenden und packenden Gitarrensoli und skurrill-philosophischen Texten. Gerade haben die vier ihr erstes Studioalbum „Keep on babbling“ (Ark Noir 2012) fertiggestellt. Die Band hat schon zahlose Gigs in Deutschland gespielt und hat vor in nächste Zeit die Welt zu erobern.

Koloclyphis? ...The mysterious and somewhat unusual name of a newcomer band, that proves to be so much more indeed! They were able to demonstrate this point at the 2012 Southside Bandcontest in Biberach (Germany). The quartett came together in early 2011 and pulled out all the stops to become the impressive live act they are today. Even if the band name and logo seem psychedelic to begin with, these are no tame hippies we're dealing with! With influences like Nirvana, NOFX, Muse and Silverchair, KOLOCLYPHIS serves up a mixture of alternative rock, grunge and punk rock with tasty guitar licks and catchy vocals. To top that off the band delivers gut-wrenching guitar solos and abstract philosophical lyrics on their debüt studio album 'Keep On Babbling' (Ark Noir Records /2012). Since the albums release the band has played countless shows in Germany with plans for world domination in the near future.
